CA Outreach Challenge

Physical Therapy Students Impacting their Community!

What is the CA Outreach Challenge?

The Concept:

The CA Outreach Challenge is a state-wide competition that challenges SPT/SPTAs to accrue volunteer hours in their local communities. Students register online and log volunteer hours over the course of six months. Students and programs with the highest number of logged volunteer hours would be recognized at the CA Student Conclave each year.

Our Goals are to…

  1. Increase student exposure to the communities and populations they will be serving.
  2. Provide a platform in which PT-friendly organizations and affiliations can be recommended to students.
  3. Promote the PT profession through positive community interactions.

Rules of the Challenge

Only volunteer hours that occur after the date you register may be logged.

Volunteer activity can not be part of a clinical affiliation, or clinical experience which serves the student only.

Volunteer activities can not be logged for fundraisers benefiting the students PT/PTA program.

Challenge Awards:

Top performers in the following categories will be recognized with a plaque/special certificate at the conclusion of the 2015 CA Outreach Challenge.

Individual Awards:

  • Top SPTA with the most overall volunteer hours
  • Top SPT with the most overall outreach hours

PT/PTA Program Awards:

  • Top PTA program with most overall outreach hours
  • Top PT program with most overall outreach hours
